So winter has come barging in on fall’s territory with quite the attitude! I’m deeming the merge of the two seasons as “finter.” (I’ve checked. It’s a thing. Or at least a hashtag) The above photo was taken the day after Halloween. Nice, right?
Even though low temps and the occasional snow have kind of been intruding on the last bit of fall, we are still enjoying ourselves and having plenty of good times.
We attended a costume/birthday party for our nephew Spider-Man (I mean, Dominic) a couple weeks ago. And as I suspected, my mother and father-in-law have really been Superman and Wonder Woman all along! It was a fantastic party complete with a Spider-Man bounce house, delicious cake, and lots of catching up and bouncing around with cousins. Three looks great on you, Dominic!!
The early winter blues were also dashed by a visit from sister bear! Robbyn came in for the weekend and we had ourselves a delightful time as I though we would. Above are some photos from when we visited Bellecour (which has been on our list and was totally Instagram-able as well as delicious). We ate all the pastries and drank all the coffee. We also got together with McKenzie and my brother Michael a couple of times and did what we do best… create and then destroy amazing charcuterie spreads. I so enjoyed catching up, drinking wine, eating all the cheese, and (of course) planning our next get-together.
I took all of three photos this Halloween. It was COLD but our ninja and rainbow unicorn still managed an hour of trick-or-treating in our neighborhood with Joe. (Thank goodness because I look forward to that acquisition of Kit-Kats and Reese’s pretty much all year long.) Ares, our handsome devil had expired by evening. So he stayed home with me to hand out candy. As I suspected she would, Rosie would like to know when we can have Halloween again. I eased the blow of “in 365 more days” by letting her know that Christmas is just around the corner.
Also in recent happenings, Ares turned six months old! He commemorated being .5 years old by learning how to sit on his own and also scooch around (just backwards, but still!) He is loving life as well as his newfound abilities.
Ares also has not been phased much by this suddenly winter weather. Must be his Elmer Fudd hat keeping him warm through it all. I hope you’ve all been staying warm and managing to enjoy the tail end of fall. I’m excited to be celebrating Thanksgiving soon and getting all of our holiday preparations under way.
Have a fantastic weekend!
