Hey, everyone! Greetings from survival mode! January has been brutal, right? At least these past few days have. Here are a few of the things the kids have been up to since the start of 2019.
There’s definitely been a lot of indoor activities, such as art projects and playing with all of the glorious new Barbie dolls and accessories . It has made for some sweet moments of sisterly bonding before descending into sisterly arguments. Also, Ares now says “Barbie” (pronounced “Bobby”). He likes to line the dolls up against the wall and then knock them over like dominos. Boys are fun!
Speak of Ares, his new thing is creating one-shouldered tops for himself. I think he gets his sassy style from Joe.
Also, he loves being physical so much. He has no interest in sitting in front of the TV or any kind of screen. He’ll take my hand, drag me to the ground, and then get on my back for a horsie ride. He’s constantly tackling Joe, throwing balls at us, egging us on to chase him, and belly-laughing about it all. I have to say, having a little boy might be the biggest calorie-burner ever. I can’t wait until the weather warms up and I can turn him loose outside again.
In addition to being super fashionable and very physical this month, Ares has also given up his pacifier. (I lost it one day and never got around to replacing it). So if you see this little guy soon, give him a high-five or first bump, because he’d sure love that!
Even though he saps literally every ounce of energy I have, I absolutely love him to pieces!
In an attempt to find an outlet for all of the pent-up energy everyone has, we’ve been trying to get out at least a little every weekend. We spent one Saturday afternoon at open gym at Hudson gymnastics.
We’ve made a couple Friday night trips to the Giggle Factory.
We also made it out to Eagan to Good Times Park too. Rosie has been talking a long time about jumping on the blob there and I’m glad we were finally able to make that happen for her.
Although we mostly have been shut-ins, we did manage to see a couple other of the neighborhood babies. I got to babysit one morning and we also met up with another one of our baby friends at the library too!
To end this post, I just want to mention that Joe keeps on buying outfits for Zuzu.
And Rosie has begun wearing a sleep mask to bed which is pretty much my most favorite thing ever.
Anyway, those are a few of things we’ve been up to this January. Are you reading this? Are you my friend? Let’s plan on getting together next month, kids or no kids, once things thaw out a little bit.
Cheers to surviving January, everyone!
