This weekend, Cece put on her tiny shoes, big tutu, and show-stopping smile and melted my heart as she danced in her first recital. She has only been taking her dance class for a little over a month, but is having a BLAST with it. She is always asking if it’s “Monday Special Day”… Continue reading Cece’s First Dance Recital
I decided for my 29th birthday that I wanted to check off a bucket list item and take a flying trapeze class. It took a little effort to pick a date and arrange for a babysitter. But we made it happen! And I wanted Joe to take it with me, of course. Even though he… Continue reading And we’re off to join the circus…
Hola! Here are some honeymoon photos taken from our trip to Huatulco, Mexico with the real camera! Down by the beach at our hotel. Nothing like a vacation for two to make you seriously consider getting a selfie stick… I asked Joe to take a photo of me while backlit by the sun so I would look like an… Continue reading Honeymoon Part II
Merry Christmas! (Or “Merry Craziness” as Cece said today. She has uttered a lot of gems this holiday season, including “Rosie is my reindeer!” And also “Is Santa bringing MORE presents tonight?” Good times.) Today felt special as we celebrated our first Christmas as a family of four. It was also the first time we spent Christmas… Continue reading Merry Christmas (2014)!
Below is a video I made from the photos and videos taken with Robbyn’s phone and my own. I anticipated taking many more pictures and videos, but I had a Rosie who wanted to be held a lot, tiny hands to hang on to, coffee to chug, and family to enjoy. So THANK YOU to my sister for all her help… Continue reading Vacation Video
With Dad’s birthday being a few days ago and the one-year anniversary of him passing being today, I’ve been thinking of him even more than I already do. I miss him so dearly. There’s been a lot of laughing until I cry and crying until I laugh when reminiscing about him. Below are some short videos… Continue reading Dad and Cece
When we brought Rosemary home from the hospital, I tried to make an effort to take videos of those first few weeks. To me those brand-new baby days are almost magic. (To be clear, there’s also lots of sleeplessness, poopy diapers, feeling physically icky from having a baby, and just messes everywhere in addition to… Continue reading Our first weeks at home
It appears that I have NOT started out 2014 with a blogging bang! That’s ok though. There’s lots of year left to catch up. We are doing well around these parts. Or at least as well as anyone can be doing when it is -22 degrees outside. Since Christmas, Cece has been… Continue reading To a new year
Every time I watch this video, I think “Good God, I love this child!” And then I’m also thankful that we have possibly the most patient dog in existence. Thirdly, I’m thankful that we won’t have to purchase a pony in the near future because, apparently, Maya is sufficient for now.
For some reason, toddlers find that rummaging through purses and wallets is one of the best things ever. At least right after garbage trucks, chocolate milk, and blowing bubbles. Don’t worry, we keep things on the up-and-up around here. We put the twenty back in Joe’s wallet. Well, at least after he watched… Continue reading TWENTY!
